First, and current, Moonwing

Dick Grayson spent his early years as a circus acrobat. During his family's high-wire act, a celestial celebration in which young Dick played the man on the moon, Grayson wore a costume adorned with lunar imagery. His happy family life was cut short in early adolescence when his parents were killed in a tragic accident during a practice session for their act.

After leaving the circus, Grayson became a freelance adventurer and later became a special Central Intelligence Agency operative.

Dick Grayson suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder (previously referred to as MPD or Multiple Personality Disorder), creating for himself an alternate personality in costumed mercenary Marc Spector. Despite -- or perhaps because of -- this, he caught the attention of Bruce Wayne, who requested the CIA operative be transferred to SHIELD.

At one point, when he was attempting to live a more normal life, Dick left SHIELD to attend Oxford College -- and passed the Moonwing identity on to younger agent Jason Todd. Unfortunately, Jason was assumed to have been killed when he was caught in an explosion (meant to kill Dark Claw and Col. Bruce Wayne, who both survived unharmed). Following this, Dick returned to take up the mantle once more.
